This is a churchyard without a church for St Faith's was demolished in the mid-nineteenth century as a more imposing replacement parish church - Holy Trinity was erected almost a mile to the east in the village of Leven. The site of St Faith's was once an island above marshy carr land and it is believed that religious worship happened here even in pre-Christian times, long before a later Norman structure was conceived. St Faith's 13th century limestone font is now prominently housed in Holy Trinity Church.
