Volunteer
Over the years a great many people have generously given their time to Yorkshire Burials, and we thank every one of them. Yorkshire is a vast county, with countless churchyards and cemeteries still to be photographed and transcribed.
If you find the site useful, could you help? Every contribution makes a difference, and with your support we can keep growing this free resource for family historians and researchers.
Ways to help
Photograph headstones
Visit a churchyard or cemetery near you and photograph the memorials, section by section. We will show you how.
Transcribe
Type up inscriptions from photographs, or entries from burial registers, from home at your own pace.
Map graves
Help build grave plans from maps and GPS readings, so people can find a grave on the ground.
No experience is needed, just an interest in local and family history. Get in touch and tell us which area you are in and what you would like to do.
