Very few people in Hipperholme are aware of the existence of a small graveyard situated in Bramley Lane near to the Grammar School. In his paper "Hipperholme and Lightcliffe " by Mr R. Bretton (Transactions,
1957, page 87) he writes "The first chapel of the Hipperholme Wesleyan Methodists was in Bramley Lane, not far beyond the Grammar School. It was built in 1836 and was known as the Bell Metal or Mount Pleasant Chapel. It still stands but was long ago converted into four back-to-back houses. The tiny graveyard exists, hidden behind the houses "
